Presidents Corner:    Tod Smith President
Hi All,

It was great to see so many of you at the last meeting and to top that we had a guest who found our club on the internet.
I'd like to give thanks in writing to Diana Mead for leading our club in my absence for the last few meetings.
Seems like she always steps up when I or anybody else needs it. So, thank you again my friend.
For those of you that weren't at the meeting, we'll be holding another Rally at Frank Raines on May 17-18 2008.
We will need all your help in making this rally one to remember. If you would like to help, we will be having a meeting at Mt. Mike's Pizza on Clayton Rd. near Ygnacio Valley Rd. on Wednesday May 19th @ 6pm for dinner and at 6:30 we will start going over your idea's on how we can make this an awesome event.

We talked about it at the board meeting & I think as an entire club we should all make an effort to greet and welcome others to our club.
It makes people feel good to be included instead of feeling left out. We have a whole new box of Club business cards (thanks Dawn T.), so be sure to get some at the next meeting.
Until next time, Tod

Mar Meeting Notes : Michel Gnutzman (thanks, great job)

Minutes read and approved. Roll call taken. We had one guest present, Karl Schaefer, who found us through our web site.

Bill Salmon and Tim Warbington attended the CORVA Family Fun Days at California City.

Old Business: Thanks to Pat Morgan for the Danville Dinner Walk proceeds. Next one will be June 3rd so mark your calendars.

The donation in Steve Molders name was discussed trying to figure where it might do the most good.

The subject of being a 100% CORVA club was again discussed. Since we donate 10% of our club dues to CORVA we should be considered one. We are going to query CORVA at their annual meeting.

Grayson is doing better. Slow recovery from his surgery but heÕs heading back to work soon. Best Wishes to him.

Bob Lininger turned in $90 from one of the club raffles.

Again a reminder that Concord Motorsports will give a 15% to club members.

THANK YOU to the Meads for hosting the In&Out Party. There were a couple Faux PasÕ committed but we wonÕt mention any names to further embarrass the parties involved.

There was a lot of discussion on our upcoming Rally. After discussion between the East Bay High Tailers and Escarabajo it was decided that there was not enough time to work out doing it together this year but will definitely keep it in mind for the future.

It was agreed that those that can should attend the EBHT event to show our support. It will be April 26th at Frank Raines  Park.

A Rally committee was formed for our event in May, also to be held at Frank Raines Park on the 17th & 18th .

Theme for the event will be Ō29 and doing fine!Ķ Our 29th year!!

Dinner: Diana Mead, Bev Haley.

Rally: Tim Warbington, Mike Thurston, Roy Haley, Bruce Meiers.

Erin Smith will make the necessary arraignments with the county.

Anna Callanta and Rich Bradhurst will host the pancake breakfast on Sunday. Paul Newfield will man the hot dog stand.

Erin, Anna and Michel will handle the registration duties.

Tim talked about the recycling bins at Stonyford. Anna has tried contacting the Rangers but so far hasnÕt been able to get a hold of them. We are going to leave the bin at Stonyford since someone is recycling but still would like an accounting of how much money it is generating for them. Frank Raines will allow us to put in a recycle bin there. We will ask for a yearly accounting of how much it produces should we decide to place one there.

Carla brought up the idea for first aid and CPR.  Since IÕm going from MichelÕs notes I would assume these would be classes.

Yearly dues for our website  are $180.00 for the web surfer.

Dawn gave the TreasurerÕs report and the meeting finished off with the Raffle and refreshments.

RALLY REPORT  Mike Thurston

Stonyford had a small turnout of 4 families. There was lots of snow which made getting more than a couple miles from camp very challenging. M-5, the Mill Creek trail (the cut) and Potato Hill were all deep in snow making it very hard going once the snow got deep. We cut many downed trees  that were blocking the roads and trails but were never successful making much progress up M-5. We decided to take the hard way around the backside  and were successful until we tried to get back to M-5 when Tim had tranny problems and we had to leave his car on a side trail. He went back up a couple days later and swapped out the tranny and got the car back out. The weather was nice during the day and very chilly at night. Mike even got a video of  Doug stuck in the snow (I was only turning around).
