Hi again everyone,
It has been a rather quiet month so far, kids are back in school and things are getting back to normal schedule. We were accepted into the Walnut Festival Parade after a long absence and even with a modest turn out we had a pretty respectable showing. The people along the parade route seemed to like the cars and we showed them that off-roading can be a fun family experience for all ages. We have already been invited to attend next year so congrats to those who showed up to make it happen.

We have alot of things coming up in the next few months; The CORVA Jamboree at Frank Raines Park, Stonyford / Dumont over Thanksgiving and the Annual Christmas party is coming up before you know it. Mark your calendars for December 2nd at the clubhouse. It will be a catered event open to all members, family and guests. Final cost has not been determined yet but should be under $20 for adults and less for children but it is still in the planning stages so keep your eyes open for your invitiation in the mail soon.

We had a much better turn out for the meeting this month. Remember, it is only one Wednesday a month !

See you all Wednesday November 1st, 2006 7:30pm

October MEETING NOTES:  Minutes were read and approved. We had 2 guests present: Steve Coelho and Bill Salmon Jr. The Walnut Festival Parade was a success. Pat Morgan reported that the next Dinner walk is December 5th in Danville. More to follow on this subject. Tod noted that we need help at the CORVA Jamboree with the events that we have taken on. It is also time to beat the bush for donations for the raffle prizes for the CORVA Jamboree. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Upcoming club elections !! Nominations were opened for new club officers for next year. There will be alot of familiar faces unless someone wants to run against the incumbents. RALLY MASTER REPORT    Roy Haley  Rally Master

Day on the Beach at Lawsons Landing was attended by 9 families. Friday night we had appetizers and champagne to toast the Warbington's new motorhome. Very nice unit!! Saturday we again were treated to tri-tip by Dawn Thurston. She has them down to perfection! There were lots of side dishes topped off by a baked apple crisp and ice cream courtesy of Bev Haley. The weather was typical coast weather with fog and some occasional sunshine with a light breeze which was perfect for kite flying and flying your flag of choice on your rig.

WALNUT FESTIVAL PARADE  After a 10 year absence we were accepted into the Walnut Festival Parade through downtown Walnut Creek on Sept 16th. We had one golf cart carrying the club banner, 2 glass bodies, 4 rails and a quad representing the club. We did alot of sitting around waiting for things to get rolling but overall it was a fun outing.

C.O.R.V.A. Report . Tim reported that we have been in the CORVA newsletter now 2 months in a row. The Sept issue had a full page on club events and the new October issue has photos of club members at last years CORVA jamboree. The pictures showed how creative some club members can be with their costumes. A good time is sure to be had at this years events. The driving events have been put back in the jamboree which should be alot of fun.

Tim also gave me a web address for the BLM which has lots of good information on it.  www.blm.gov/ca/caso/ohv.html
