“Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.”

Escarabajo would like to thank you for your past support and your interest in our annual Virginia City rally. By this time of year, you’ve normally received your invitation and pre registration packet. This year things are a bit different!
Our club has had to make the very difficult decision not to hold the rally portion of the Memorial Day Weekend activities. For the first time in 27 years we are unable to acquire the general liability insurance required by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Without this insurance coverage, a run of this type is not permitted.
We were notified in late January that our former carrier would not underwrite our event this year. Since then we have been working to locate a new carrier. As of yesterday, we have decided that we cannot push, wait and hope any longer. We know that you want to make your plans. We do intend to come back full force, with insurance, for our “Picture Virginia City” rally in 2004. For this year, we propose a more relaxed visit to picturesque Virginia City.
Since you have attended the rally before, you know there are many fun things to do in Virginia City. The train ride between VC and Gold Hill, the cemetery, the casinos, saloons and shops to name a few. There are also lots and lots of beautiful roads over which to run your off road vehicle in the surrounding hills. The petrogylphs, hundred dollar hill, the “V”, Long Valley and the wild horses, can all be seen up close and personal in the area around this very old town.
Escarabajo will be there! We’ll be hosting our Saturday evening feast and raffle. We’ll be waiting for you at the Delta Saloon on Main St. beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday (the 23rd) and again on Saturday morning to hand over your dinner tickets (or to sell you some!) and those wonderful coupons for free Virginia City stuff! The Sheriff has said we’ll still be having our Grand Parade on Main Street Sunday morning.
We hope to see you there!
